GSN Planet is proud to announce the 2025 Sustainability Awards, recognizing outstanding leadership, innovation, and meaningful contributions to environmental and social responsibility across the spa, wellness, and hospitality industries.
This year marks the debut of a special new honor: the Lisa Henry Jacobs Award, created to recognize an individual whose work exemplifies the compassion, purpose, and commitment to sustainability that Lisa Henry Jacobs so deeply embodied. A beloved leader in the wellness community, Lisa played a key role in shaping GSN’s mission from the very beginning—championing sustainability long before it became a mainstream priority. Her passion, mentorship, and forward-thinking approach continue to inspire industry professionals around the world.
“Lisa reminded us that one person can spark meaningful change,” said Maggy Dunphy, GSN Planet Board President. “This award honors those who lead with heart and vision, much like Lisa did, and who motivate others to do the same.”
The 2025 GSN Sustainability Awards will highlight excellence in four categories:

Sustainable Spa/Wellness Facility – The Michael Stusser Award
Honoring a spa or wellness destination that fully embraces sustainability in its operations, resources, procurement, programming, and community impact. -
Sustainable Innovator – The Tara Grodjesk Award
Recognizing a business or individual creating positive change through sustainable product development, sourcing, packaging, and innovation. -
Sustainable Newcomer – The Tracie Wertz Award
Celebrating a rising leader or new initiative showing measurable progress and promise in the sustainability space. -
Sustainable Trailblazer – The Lisa Henry Jacobs Award (New)
Awarded to an individual who leads with integrity and passion, embodying Lisa’s spirit of connection, purpose, and lasting impact.
“These awards are about more than recognition—they’re about celebrating the people and ideas that are shaping the future of sustainable wellness,” said Dara Mayhew, GSN Planet Executive Director. “We’re shining a spotlight on those who are walking the talk and making a real difference.”
Nominations are now open, and all are welcome to submit. Whether nominating yourself, a colleague, or a business you admire, GSN encourages participation from across the wellness community. Finalists will be announced in early September, followed by a community voting period. Winners will be celebrated at the GSN Planet Sustainability Summit, taking place October 19–22 at Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California.
