  • acupressure

    Traditional Chinese technique where pressure is applied to precise points in order to relieve symptoms, and balance the body's energy fields.

  • acupuncture

    This therapeutic medical procedure involves a solid metallic needle being inserted into a precise point on the body and may be accompanied with subsequent manual manipulation.

  • aerobic exercise

    During this type of exercise, muscles draw on oxygen, fats and glucose which increase cardiovascular endurance.

  • aerobics

    Vigorous sustained exercises, enhancing circulatory and respiratory efficiency are considered aerobics. Jogging, swimming, cycling, and step aerobics are examples.

  • The Alexander Technique

    This education prevents physical decline caused by habitual mannerisms of posture. Reduced physical tension, clarity and fluid movement can be achieved by developing mind/body motion awareness.

  • algotherapy

    Any body treatment that is based on the application of seaweed or algae.

  • anaerobic

    In this oxygen-lacking first stage of all exercise, energy is released to the muscle and builds power, strength, and muscle mass. (Weightlifting, sprinting, jumping etc.)

  • anti-aging

    For the purpose of delaying or lessening the effects of aging. Frequently refers to skin treatments and cosmetics.

  • applied kinesiology

    Integrated study of human movement, in which the biomechanical, neurological and biochemical relations of the body are explored.

  • aqua aerobics

    Aerobic exercise done in water, which is a soft support to sensitive systems and provides fat-burning, cardiovascular activity with its resistance to body pressure.

  • aromatherapy

    Essential oils trigger the olfactory sense to calm, clarify and relieve. Aromatherapy is used in treatments such as massage, wrap, and hydrotherapy.

  • Asanas

    These stable Yoga postures open the energy channels to purify and strengthen the body and mind. Poses should feel steady and comfortable, firm yet relaxed.

  • Ayurveda

    Meaning knowledge of life, Ayurvedic medicine comes from India. This 'Science of Life' utilizes the Laws of Nature to create health and balance within each unique patient through holistic techniques.
