Welcome:
Since 1940, Rancho La Puerta has evolved from a rustic ranch to a sophisticated destination spa resort. Each week the resort welcomes some 125 guests to its 3,000 private acres of gardens, organic farm, mountains, hiking paths and meadows, all watched over by mystical Mount Kuchumaa.
You Are Here:
Fly to SAN (San Diego). Transportation is provided for guests arriving and departing on Saturday. Rancho La Puerta is three miles south of the US border -- a one-hour drive from San Diego or a three-hour drive from Los Angeles.
Treat Yourself:
Rancho La Puerta combines a luxury resort setting, outstanding spa cuisine and award-winning service, with an emphasis on healthful exercise, spirituality and mind/body awareness. A seven-day Mind/Body/Spirit program offers an equal mix of active, challenging exercise, stretching and relaxation. Activities range from meditation and massage to simply enjoying the pleasures of a sunny patio or a shady hammock. Amenities include: aerobic gyms, weight-training equipment, swimming pools, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts; and women's and men's health centers with steam rooms, whirlpools and saunas.
You Deserve:
The Rancho La Puerta Herbal Wrap. Steaming hot linens steeped in traditional Native American herbs wrap the body, while a blanket and plastic overlay capture and hold their heat. Developed in 1940, Rancho La Puerta's wraps are as effective and soothing as ever, promoting circulation and relaxing tense and sore muscles.
Stay & Play:
All ranch cottages or casitas exhibit a romantic Mexican-Colonial influence. Each is one-of-a-kind. All rooms are amidst gardens, with individual sun-filled patios, and most have fireplaces. Guests enjoy: innovative spa cuisine featuring fresh, organically grown fruits and vegetables and fresh seafood options; cooking classes offered weekly, as well as nutritional workshops; more than 50 different fitness classes; over 40 miles of hiking trails; evening guest speakers and workshops. New for 2007 is the cooking school La Cocina Que Canta -- “The Kitchen That Sings.” La Cocina is the hub of any food lover’s vacation dreams, featuring hands-on cooking classes with just-harvested organic ingredients.
