Welcome:
This luxurious new outpost on Canada’s wild Pacific coast perches on a dramatic headland overlooking Vancouver Island’s rugged west coast, in the sleepy yet picturesque village of Ucluelet. Blending modern luxury with wild nature, the resort offers expansive, light-filled spaces and breathtaking seaward views.
You Are Here:
Arrive by car, ferry and/or by air. The local airport (Tofino) is 15 miles away; flights run from Vancouver to Tofino/Ucluelet all summer and are weather dependent. Alternatively, drive from the mainland via BC Ferries, approximately a four-hour journey from Vancouver via Nanaimo. Ucluelet is also a five-hour drive from Victoria, BC, accessible by ferry from Port Angeles, WA.
Treat Yourself:
Offering an integrated approach to holistic health and well-being, the Drift Spa at the Black Rock features restorative spa treatments, including acupuncture by a certified TCM practitioner that will leave you feeling revitalized and beautiful inside out. Soothing and spacious treatment rooms offer luxe seclusion at the ocean’s edge, and treatments incorporate coastal ingredients such as fresh seaweed from BC’s pristine waters. The spa uses the principles of European thalassotherapy to hydrate, heal and feed the body through its largest organ, the skin.
You Deserve:
The Organic Seaweed Massage and Soak, a two-hour signature treatment that unwinds your muscles and relaxes your body into bliss. Start with a 90-minute therapeutic massage featuring a detoxifying blend of wild organic seaweeds with pumpkin, flax and olive oil—perfect for tired muscles. Post-massage, soak in a thalasso hydrotherapy tub with marine elements, watch the waves crash onto the rocky shore below, and feel at one with the ocean outside.
Stay & Play:
Enjoy Black Rock’s inspired setting amid majestic old-growth rain forest and sweeping ocean views. Hike the majestic Wild Pacific Trail at the resort’s doorstep, or take advantage of world-class surfing, kayaking, fishing, whale watching and storm watching. After an active day, relax fireside at the Float Lounge or sample artisan-inspired West Coast cuisine at Fetch Restaurant. With 4,200 square feet of space, including the Rainforest Ballroom, Black Rock is also ideal for events, receptions, retreats and weddings for up to 140 people.
Kudos:
“The Black Rock steps up Ucluelet’s game considerably with this sophisticated property, complete with its spa, lounge and fine dining room.”—AOL Travel, 2009
