Healthy LivingReviewMy Visit to Temple Gardens Mineral Spa Resort

January 28, 2016Craig Oliver

I always look forward to my annual spa product training visit to Temple Gardens Mineral Spa Resort. As a supplier to the spa, I am usually focused on work while there but this time I definitely took a bit more time to experience the resort and even take in a spa treatment.

Temple Gardens is located in the quaint historic town of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan (less than an hour from Regina) and is renowned for it’s on site geothermal mineral pools. The mineral pools are a big draw and bring in tourists from around the world that want to experience its many healing benefits.

I was booked into one of the newly renovated guest rooms which was very spacious and comfortable and was conveniently located on the same level as the walkway to the mineral pools. On this trip I did get a chance to experience the pools and it was heavenly. I found it very relaxing and did notice that it helped ease some of my muscle aches & stress. In the pool area there is also access to their eucalyptus steam room (my favorite) and sauna.

The day after offering the spa team product training, spa director Rachel Hardwick invited me to experience the spas popular Sun Tree Hand and Foot Ritual. The treatment actually utilizes products from our Beauty Through Balance signature seaweed series so I may be a bit bias in my review (just kidding).  The main spa is located on the same floor as the mineral pools and there are also treatment rooms on a lower floor as well. The spa offers a range of treatments from our line Beauty Through Balance (locally made in BC Canada) and also Comfort Zone (Italy)

My treatment was located on the lower floor spa room which I found to be a very calming and relaxing setting and was offered to me by the very talented reflexologist Michelle Selinger. The treatment began with a detoxifying foot soak using the Green Tea Seaweed Salt Glow and Pacific Seaweed Soak and following that I moved to a very comfortable massage bed with the elevated back where Michelle began an exfoliation using the gentle salt scrub which contains concentrated wild Pacific seaweed. After hot towel removal, warmed Seaweed/Glacial clay mud is applied to hands and feet which are then wrapped in hot towels. The Glacial Clay and Seaweed are hand harvested from remote areas of Northern BC and are very rich in minerals and micro-nutrients which help to reduce pain and inflammation while dislodging toxins.

The finishing step included a therapeutic massage using our warmed Green Tea Indian Spice Serum massage on hands and feet which contains cardamom, clove, and exotic florals. Michelle’s massage was amazing I felt so relaxed I didn’t want it to end! Following the treatment all guests are taken up to the main spa lounge area to relax and indulge in their herbal tea selections, dried fruit, nuts and other healthy snacks. Needless to say I was not looking forward to leaving and heading out for a day of meetings in Regina!

Thank you spa director Rachel and Michelle for providing this therapeutic experience and getting me
to carve out some much needed ME time!
