California Spas Rank Among Best of 2010
California continues to be one of the most popular spa and wellness destinations - with nine spas placing in Spas of America's Top 50 Spas of 2010. Results are generated by unique page views from spa consumers on the Spas of America website. California was also the most searched region in North America for spa and wellness travel in 2010.
"Through good times, and tough times California continues to be a popular spa and wellness destination for consumers around in the world”, says Spas of America president Craig Oliver. “From relaxing wine spas in Northern and Central California, rejuvenating wellness experiences in the Desert, rewarding destination spas in the Southern California, and exciting casino resort spas, California offers something for everyone.”
Spas of America’s most popular California spa in 2010, is Northern California’s Wine & Roses. Set in picturesque Lodi Wine Country, a short drive from San Francisco or Sacramento, Wine & Roses offers guests a warm and inviting relaxation experience.
California’s Desert region had three spas on the list: Living Waters Spa, an intimate family-owned clothing-optional mineral resort; and two Hollywood’s favorites - the mineral-fed Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs and the Coachella Valley's La Quinta Resort - were popular with spa and wellness consumers seeking a desert escape.
San Diego country had two spas on this year’s list. Fifth place went to the beautiful Pala Spa, at the Pala Resort Casino, and seventh place went to California’s original destination spa - The Golden Door - specializing in personalized one-week retreats.
California’s Wine spa experiences rounded out the this year’s list: Spa Terra, at the Meritage Resort at Napa is situated on an eight-acre private vineyard infusing the resort experience with Napa’s famous grapes; The Central Coasts’ Bernardus Lodge offers guests the intimacy of a resort with epicurean flair, set among the oaks and vineyards of the scenic Carmel Valley; and The Napa Valley Health Spa, at Inn at Southbridge, set in the charming historic town of St. Helena in Napa Valley offers guests a private, intimate and convenient escape to wellness.
