Going Thai in Vegas ~ WET, The Spa at TI

Going Thai in Vegas ~ WET, The Spa at TI

As I entered the WET spa at the newly re-branded TI (Treasure Island Hotel) to check in for my Thai table massage, I was expecting a slick, ultra-cool, lounge-style spa.

While that sounds great and very Vegas, what I found was even better. The spa was a little more like a “girls’ club.” Not overdone or pretentious, rather it was plush, well stocked with all I desired, and staffed with friendly professionals.

For my treatment I was told to wear yoga-style clothing, so they had me very curious about what I was getting into!

My masseuse explained the treatment to me and I knew I was going to love it.  She described it as a “massage for the joints.” It involved a combination of stretches along with intense pressure-point massage. She literally got on the table with me and moved my body through a series of poses. It was wonderful. I quickly understood why my friends who have visited Thailand love it.

This treatment isn’t for everybody, but it can be adapted to fit different levels of flexibility. I highly recommend it for runners or walkers because legs and hips are the major focus. So many massages seem to ignore these wonderful hard-working muscle groups, but trust me, you will be ready to dance all night when you are done.

As with most high-end spas, WET has many little treats that come with your visit. Make sure you leave time for a steam or sauna, and be sure to try all the great potions. I always leave a spa in Vegas knowing I got my money’s worth – which is more than I can say for the casino.
