Ultra-rejuvenation ~ Four Seasons Hotel Seattle

Ultra-rejuvenation ~ Four Seasons Hotel Seattle
The Four Seasons Hotel and Residences is situated literally at the heart of downtown Seattle, Washington. One block away from Pike Place Market and literally across the street from the Seattle Art Museum, it is ideally situated for visitors and locals alike. Notably, the hotel’s main restaurant is called ART and is helmed by Kerry Sear, a prominent and popular local chef. Its menu reflects the bounty of fresh produce and fish available at the nearby market.

Modern but warm decor makes the hotel lobby casual and elegant, capturing the relaxed feel of the Pacific Northwest. The hotel‘s location overlooking Elliott Bay also provides stunning water views. Rooftop pools and Bay-View guest rooms as well as some spa treatment rooms look directly out onto the bay, where the majestic Olympic Mountains can be seen across the water on a clear day.

Emerald Rain in the “Emerald City”

The spa, along with the hotel, opened in 2008. The 6,000-square-foot space is generously proportioned to favor the guest lounge and marble locker rooms. The couple’s treatment room boasts an incredible ocean view and is a popular feature for the spa.

One of the spa’s signature treatments, Emerald Rain, includes reflexology and massage. Designed to release blockages and sync the energy throughout the body, this treatment focuses on alignment of the spine. The experience begins with an invigorating foot massage that encourages energetic release, followed by essential oils being “rained” on the spine and massaged into the body.

ULTRA facial: Three therapies in one

I’ve been lucky enough to visit the spa for a variety of treatments. Recently the spa launched its newest specialty anti-aging facials, featuring the ULTRA machine. The machine brings together ultrasonic (noncrystal) microdermabrasion, microcurrent to tone and “re-educate” facial muscles, and LED light therapy to stimulate the skin’s production of collagen. Normally a facial would consist of just one of these anti-aging features, but the ULTRA Age-Defying Facial is 80 minutes packed with all three.

Facials are a passion of mine, and as I get older, I appreciate excellent results. Beyond feeling refreshed and relaxed, I want to see a real difference! After this treatment I saw immediate and lasting results (two to three days) of a lifted, toned effect. Now I can appreciate why Jennifer Lopez and Madonna have the ULTRA machines at home (a mere $40,000 to own your own)—you could get addicted to that fresh, glowing and lifted look. I also understand why the spa recommends a series of treatments. I’m officially a fan and plan on returning to continue my “facial workouts”!
